Extracts From The Catalogue for Memes: Linda Sgoluppi:
Each of the hundred works in the "Growth Of Language" edition consists of a fragment from a dilapidated book I found in a second-hand bookshop in Barcelona. Published in 1912 it contained ‘Elementary Lessons in Logic’.
The test tubes contain logic in both a physical and non-physical way. I liked the idea of ideas surrounding universal language over the span of time from the publication of the book up to today. It was also a metaphor for growth of my art language.
