Welcome. Paintings are on a separate page. The list stuff is here.
I am an artist based in South Northamptonshire, England. I work primarily through painting and drawing, and occasionally create installations. My work is rooted in abstraction, though I often incorporate representational elements, blending the two to explore connections between memory, place, nature and lived experience. It reflects the varied experiences that shape my life, including reimagined memories, material investigations, and the quiet moments of everyday life. I also draw inspiration from my connections to Wales and Italy, which continue to influence how I think about landscape, atmosphere and belonging.
Each piece I make is the result of sustained attention to materials, light, colour and gesture. Some works respond to the rhythms and textures of particular places, while others capture the passage of time or the unfolding of experience. Humour, often subtle, threads through my practice, bringing moments of reflection and lightness into the work.
My journey into fine art grew from an earlier practice as a creative textile artist. Over time, and somewhat unexpectedly, this led me to study fine art at university, culminating in an MA with Winchester School of Art in Barcelona. Receiving a New York Pollock-Krasner Foundation award, an early turning point in my career, enabled me to set up my first independent studio and develop my practice with confidence.
Each work stands on its own, carrying its own presence and voice. That said, I welcome those who wish to explore further and offer insights into my thinking, and possibly enrich the experience of the work. On this website, images are presented simply, allowing space to look first. Additional context is available for those who wish to learn more, and I am always happy to share thoughts about individual pieces where I can.

Process
Process plays an important role in my practice. Some projects involve careful planning and reflection, while others evolve more intuitively, guided by a simple question I often ask myself, What if? This question opens a dialogue between me and the materials, allowing the work to unfold through a process of exchange rather than control.
Drawing and painting form the core of my creative expression. I do not plan too rigidly when I paint. Decisions emerge through sustained attention and response to the materials as the work develops. Paint, colour and gesture begin to suggest their own direction, and the work evolves through an ongoing conversation between myself and the materials.
The finished piece becomes the result of this dialogue, shaped by moments of intention, chance and discovery. In this way, each work carries the traces of its making, holding the questions, decisions and responses that brought it into being.
