About the Shipping Forecast - paintings

This painting series has its origins in the British Shipping Forecast, a staple broadcast on BBC Radio offering crucial guidance to sailors navigating the waters around the British Isles. Known for its distinctive quality, the repetitive recital of area names possesses a tranquil, almost hypnotic cadence....

For every painting within this series, I dipped into the forecast corresponding  a particular sea region, envisioning the sea's demeanour, the sky above, and the prevailing weather conditions before transposing them onto canvas. Additionally, I crafted some artworks inspired by fictitious sea area names.
