There is a brook next to the studio that I see from the large windows. Across the brook is a green space. The brook is never still, the water sometimes is meandering or a full-on torrent. Birds, including egrets, colonize its offerings as do fish, ducks, damsel-flies, paddling village and sometimes, children too. The brook’s colour changes throughout the day and seasons. The brook feeds into the river Nene (Pronounced Nen in this part of the County) which eventually meets sea at The Wash on the East Coast of England. I’m drawn to the water as if I’m shapeshifting and flowing off to the sea.
