Tords

Forkostraph & Tords

Tords #1 to #3 – View #1 Three individual Tords artifacts by Linda Sgoluppi mounted on a wall. Each is a shallow long wooden box that can be displayed horizontally or vertically, with a written and multi-coloured and painted wooden totem protruding through the crackle painted box. Painted barbed wire loops through and around each box, and layered, indecipherable Forkostraph script covers the painted surfaces. The hinged lids allow the barbed wire and interior contents to be either enclosed or revealed. The works invite reflection on language, containment, tension, and meaning through both imagery and physical presence.

 Tords #1to 3  -  View #1 - Wood/paint/barbed wire. - Various dimensions - Each Box is 34cm long.

Tords #1 to #3 – View #2 - Three indivisual Tord artifacts by Linda Sgoluppi. Each shallow long wooden box features a vertical or horizontal painted totem, Forkostraph script and painted barbed wire. The hinged lids allow contents to be hidden or revealed. The repetition of form emphasizes how orientation and interaction with the boxes affect perception, and the unreadable marks raise questions about language and meaning.
